Actually most of the more complex paintings do have stories attached.
Many years ago I had a show here in Oslo called ‘Illustrajoner til Uskrevet Historier’ (Illustrations to Unwritten Stories).
I thought about collecting them all together and writing a short story to each, but it hasn’t quite happened yet …

Interesting. Do you start with the story concept, or do you start with the artwork? I would certainly like to read such a collection, if you ever manage it!

No, it’s not like that – no specific story. It’s more like there is an alternate ‘land’ in my subconcious and when I do these paintings I’m somehow illustrating scenes from that land. They sort of paint themselves :)
