Wow, this is really impressive watercolor work! The textures on the tree bark and rocks are awesome. I also really like the foreboding atmosphere and the story you created behind it -- I'm really worried for that poor knight.:D

Thanx, Clerical. Personally I think I’d be more worried about the Beast. That knight looks pretty grim and determined.
But then again, does he even know the lair is hidden there on the other side of the tree?
Or is he going to walk into a trap? :worry:

Oh my, the scenery is quite scary here... it´s dark and the guy behind with his armor... ouch and two eyes starring underneath... I wouldn´t like to wander there alone though I have already been in this kind of forest in Norway without the vilain. Yours makes me feel dizzy. It looks like the guy is hiding and expecting someone... isn´t it? Would be interesting to read what this represents for you. :)

The name of this piece is ‘Ventor’, which is Latin for ‘hunter’. So my thoughts were that here is a warrior in the depths of the dark and dangerous forest, hunting The Beast. From the skull and bones near the opening of The Beast’s lair we see that his quest is a perilous one, yet for the victorious warrior there will gold and treasure as a prize :trophy:

I’d like to think this picture represents facing your darkest fears, and by doing so, you gain your freedom from them. I deliberately only show the Beast’s eyes; our deepest fears are often faceless and nameless :fear:
